Morgan Stanley announced today that it has made a charitable gift of $1,500 to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance. The grant enhances the ongoing volunteer activities of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management employees in the Ithaca office.
“Morgan Stanley Wealth Management employees continuously demonstrate their commitment to strengthening and supporting our communities. This gift from the Firm offers us an additional opportunity to make a difference in the communities and neighborhoods in which we live and work,” said Rick Prybyl.
Each June, Morgan Stanley’s Global Volunteer Month campaign engages employees in teams and individually on local service projects. Annually, this effort involves more than 20,000 employees conducting volunteer work in more than 500 cities in 24 countries. Collectively since the launch of Global Volunteer Month in 2006, Morgan Stanley employees have delivered more than one million hours of volunteer service. Employees also contributed more than 209,000 hours during the 2014 Global Volunteer Month alone.
Acknowledging this gift, Executive director Gary Ferguson noted that “the work of the Downtown Ithaca Alliance covers roughly 100 different tasks and programs each year. We are able to accomplish what we do thanks to the generosity of folks like Morgan Stanley.”
