The Downtown Ithaca Alliance and City of Ithaca will be hosting a launch party for the Commons Rebuild Project on Monday, April 8, 2013 from Noon to 1:30pm.
The ceremony and music will take place in the Bernie Milton Pavilion. This will be the last event on the Commons as it now stands with the makeover scheduled to begin in the days following. City of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick will host the event along with representatives from Federal, State, County and City Government.
The community is invited to participate in the “Ground Breaking” as we welcome the refashioning of the Commons. The new Commons will be more open and accessible. Plans for the redesign can be found on the City of Ithaca website or by visiting downtownithaca.com.
The Launch Party event will feature live music, refreshments, and giveaways. Participants can learn about the Commons project, downtown development, and the construction plans and schedule. Displays and Information will be available including renderings of the project, and others to follow. The Project Management Team including Project Manager, Michael Kuo, and new Outreach Coordinator, Tammy Baker, will be available to meet and discuss the project as well as staff from the City of Ithaca and Downtown Ithaca Alliance.
